Free Parent Talk: The Importance of Speech and Language Intervention for Older Kids

Location

Venue:

Does your teen/young adult (Age 15-21)  slur their words? Do they have difficultly pronouncing certain letters? Do they speak monotone or with a question after each sentence? Do they say a lot of “likes” and “umm”? Your child might benefit from speech therapy. Hear from Speech/Language pathologist and Adjunct Professor at Pace University, Roseanne Legrand about the importance and benefits of speech therapy. She will also have a guest who will provide the parent experience of having a TKU student in speech therapy!

Roseanne Legrand has worked for more than forty years as a speech and language pathologist and consultant in private practice and in schools. She has developed and implemented reading, speech, and learning programs in academic, business, and rehabilitation settings and has presented at conferences, schools, and community organizations. A former board member of the New York State Speech, Hearing, and Language Association, Legrand has been honored for her work, including a citation from the New York City Department of Education as Supervisor of the Year, and as Teacher of the Year. She is currently a member of the advisory council for the Ideal School and a board member of Tech Kids Unlimited.
