TKU Codes

Location

Venue:

On Monday, February 15th (President’s Day which NYC public schools and most private schools have off), TKU will welcome neurodiverse students aged 7-21 to join us for morning and afternoon workshops to learn about creative coding. Students will learn how they can use coding languages such as Python and JavaScript to create games, visual arts, and interactive animations. Using a variety of free, online tools, students will create unique projects by examining, imagining, iterating, and designing – core practices of computer science education. Between workshops, students, families, and extended community members will be invited to join us for a presentation and Q&A session with Carlos Bueno, children’s book author of Lauren Ipsum and former software engineer and graphic designer.

AM Session (Coding): 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM EST

PM Session (Visual Storytelling): 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM EST

+ Free Lunchtime Guest Talk (via Instagram Live): 1:00 – 1:30PM (More information coming soon!)

All attendees will be mailed a free book by Carlos Bueno, Lauren Ipsum. Please include your full address when registering!
